David Real plays the mandolin for Last Stand and shares the vocals in the band singing lead, baritone and tenor. David also plays guitar and bass. His musical background is in southern gospel and eventually he started singing full-time with the Journeymen Gospel Quartet in 1966. David traveled over most of America for years as lead singer for the group. He has played in other bluegrass bands prior to Last Stand such as One Way Road, CommonTyme, and Flint Hill Special. David is also a sometime horse cavalry movie re-enactor and appeared in the movie Ride With the Devil. He is a retired Oklahoma City Police Officer and currently is a polygraph examiner for the State of Oklahoma. He is also in the business of breaking and training horses (although I think these days they break him more and finally has him trained to leave them alone.) He has lived in Alaska, Missouri, Kentucky and is a native Oklahoman. And David has this uncanny, almost scary, ability to recommend a place to eat, no matter where you tell him you are.
